We arrived in Singapore’s Changi Airport around 2PM. The airport is amazingly beautiful. We found our way to our shuttle bus to the Changi Village where we are staying and off we went. The hotel was nice but quite removed from town. We got a cab into town for dinner. Marie had been here a few years back and knew exactly where we should eat. Our cab driver was a very cool Chinese guy – as most Singaporeians are - and had us to our destination in no time. The name of the place is Lau Pau Sat. It is a huge Reading Terminal type of eatery. At night outside they shut down the local streets and 19 satay stalls fire up their grills. 19. Insane. I love satay and this was heaven. We ate. Then ate. And when we were finished we ate again. They brought plates of 30 skewers of satay at a time and we downed them like Godzilla downs little Japanese people. Yum. Then it was home for a well deserved rest before heading on to Vietnam tomorrow morning. We will be returning to Singapore for two night on our way back to Saudi. I am determined to have a Singapore Sling at the hotel that invented the drink – The Raffels. Here are some pics from our night out eating satay in Singapore. Say that five times fast.

Here I am eating a beef satay and drinking a cold Tiger Beer. So good on a very warm Singapore evening. You can see the ground is wet as we had just had three hours of tropical downpours. Singapore sits pretty close to the equator.
