Big Waves on the Gulf

Ususally when you walk down to the water it is flat. Our friend from California is a hardcore surfer. He does his best but it is rare when he can actually get out and up on a board on the surf here. The other night the wind kicked up out of the northeast and that caused some "big" waves down at the beachfront. Some parts of our beachfront are sand and some of it is rock wall. This surf is slamming up against the rock wall and then back on itself. Looking at this now makes me nervous that Jack was that close. But in the end he had a blast.

It would be too difficult to write about all the fun things we did and all the great friends & family we saw on our recent trip to the states, because there were too many! But before we get too far into our school year, just thought I'd post a few short blogs/pictures of our repat.

One of the first things we did besides eating a cheesesteak, going to Target and Dunkin' Donuts:) was visit an Ice Cream shop in the shore town that my in-laws live in. As you can tell by the following pictures - the kids loved it!

In addition to going to the beach, we also went miniature golfing, had lunch and shopped on the boardwalk:

This is me with a 12 day beard. Notice that as hard I as tried no hair will grow on the front of my chin. Marie says it is because I talk so much the hair doesn't stand a chance. So we had some fun shaving it off. Here is the progression.

2. This is the Elvis/Gay porn star. Not that I have ever seen gay porn. You get the point. No pun intended. Once again you will notice that because I don't grow hair on my chin I can never grow a goatee.


Yet here is my goatee picture. I tried. I am doing my best impersonation of James Hetfield. He rocks.

4. These two pictures are so ridiculous that I don't even know what to say. The kids were begging me to go to school the next day like this and I couldn't do it. I just look too much like a jackass. I got that whole Jim Dangle Reno 911 thing going on.

So here is the piece de resistance. Here in the most zionist hating country in the world I thought it appropriate to do my best impersionation of the fuhrer. Yes I am that stupid. But boy did we have fun.

On a different note you might notice that I am wearing my Phillies shirt in these pictures. At the writing of this blog entry our fightin' Phils are up one game to zilch on the Dodgers in the NLCS. As many of you know I am a die hard Phillies fan. Most Philadelphia fans would call themselves Eagles fans first. I am now and always have been a baseball fan first. I have blamed Ed Wade all these years for our not making the playoffs. In the end I guess it was me. I leave and we now make the playoffs two years straight. Damn. I got a lot of late nights ahead of me. I will be waking up at 4am to catch the end of the games. Tonight the game starts at 11:35. I will try to stay up but we shall see. Go Phils. And I love Slingbox.
