You've done well, young grasshopper...

The only thing I asked my mother to commit to while she was over here (and if you know my mom - you know she doesn't commit to anything!), is to show me how to make some authentic Vietnamese dishes.

So on day 5, we spent the whole day making eggrolls and fish sauce. Like any good recipe shared from generation to generation, I could share the recipe, but then I'd have to kill you:)

One night, we had the fruits of my/our labor, a dish named: Bun Gai Cha....or in english: Noodles with eggrolls. Like many Vietnamese noodle dishes, you start with putting fresh veggies at the bottom of the bowl such as cucumbers, mint & bean sprouts. You next add rice noodles and top it off with fried eggrolls cut in bite sized pieces. You then ladle the "Nuoc Mam" or fish sauce over and enjoy! :)

Dinner was delicious. Now, the true test will be if I can make it again without my mommy standing next to me telling me what to do!
