Mom, Dad & Johann's visit

My parents & brother were here for a visit and it was very busy. My parents met our friends, touched base with their friends, stopped in all their "regular" shops to say hello to the shopkeepers they've known for years, ate at all food they've missed for 2 1/2 years and of course spent time with the kids.

Some highlights of their trip:
  • News crew interviewed our family on expat living
  • Mom made a great dinner for my "Pho" loving friends in our backyard

          • Mom & Cheri hosted a "luau" for all of my parent's friends to meet at Cheri's house and say "Aloha" to my parents

          • Sarah had 2 swim meets that we all went to & cheered her on (we were the loudest yellers - one day (I'm sure it's soon), this will be extremely embarassing for her:)

          • A couple of times, friends of my parents insisted on inviting our whole family to feed us - how brave!

          • Here's Johann outside our golf club:

  • My parents showed me where to find the fish market a couple towns over so I can get fresh fish & shrimp when needed

  • They toured our school - here they are in Jack's class:

  • We went to the consulate to celebrate my mom's birthday
  • Of course, a morning stroll to the coffee house on the beach

The last night my parents were here, we had a cookout on the beach with some of their friends as their farewell dinner in Saudi.

We then headed out to Bahrain for a night & day to spend with them before they caught their flight home.

We enjoyed their visit and have eaten VERY well (thanks, Mom!) - safe travels home, Mom & Dad - miss you already!
